Located north of Dallas in Plano, just off the Tollway, Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar prides itself on serving up delicious farm-to-kitchen foods and. On Saturday night, I met friends at Whiskey Cake. Only information he would divugle was the ck acct was closed. that it didn't go through, the e check was returned and they were assessing fees. Excellent customer service, competitive rates, and a distribution check to all members annually.Again, wish I could give a higher review, but I can only contrast what we experienced at Sawnee with what we've experienced elsewhere.ĭoes anyone hold Sawnee EMC accountable? Paid by their online echeck system. Communications in this regard was spotty, at best.I didn't realize how annoying that was until I moved to central Florida, and became a member of The Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative. We never particular were made to feel as if we were members of a cooperative. When we first joined, we were told we would have to wait until we'd been members for 20 years, which they later raised. ![]() But unlike other cooperatives I've worked with, they raised the bar as to when we and other 'members' would be paid dividends. The customer service, for the most part, was very good on some occasions, excellent a few times, lousy many times, average most of the time.Because they're a co-operative, their rates are lower than Georgia Power. Wish I could give them a better review, but frankly, they were a disappointment. Perhaps the Virtual Solar program will enable them to serve more customers with more solar and we’ll see them move up in the rankings next year.My wife and I were 'members' of the Sawnee Electrical Membership Cooperative for 27 years, ending a few years ago. In SACE’s recently released Solar in the Southeast 2017 Annual Report, Sawnee EMC ranked below the region average for solar watts per customer. I’m more interested in helping my utility bring additional solar onto our electrical grid. I wasn’t actually expecting to save money with solar. The analysis would be different if I were transitioning to renewable energy for the first time. So essentially, my savings compare one low-carbon, renewable energy source to another. In my case, because I had been paying $9.00 per month for the Green Power (landfill gas) rider, that is now eliminated from my bill, as well. ![]() So the annualized cost per kWh would equate to 12.9 cents/kWh. And with the seasonal monthly fees I explained above, I would have paid $223.50 for them. The analysis shows that a block of 10 panels would have produced 1736 kWh of electricity last year. Obviously your results may vary (and mine may, too). And, somewhat to my surprise, I would have SAVED $61 last year with the Virtual Solar program. They compared my actual consumption and billing history for the prior year with what it would have been on the Virtual Solar program. But, rather than letting that crude math deter me, I commissioned the annualized impact analysis Sawnee offers. Unfortunately, that December value would compute to over 24 cents/kWh. The May result would be 10.7 cents/kWh (which represents a savings compared to the range of 11-14 cents/kWh I experienced last year). For one block of 10 panels, that projected output ranges from a low of 63 kWh in December to a high of 204 kWh in May. In the “off season” (October-March), when the panels produce less, the monthly fee is discounted to $15.50/month.Īs the website points out, “nergy output will vary for reasons such as cloud coverage, the sun’s angle and time of year.” But they provide historic output from last year to enable a financial evaluation. ![]() At present (April-September), that fee for each block is $21.75/month. ![]() Instead, I’m paying a monthly fee for each block of 10 solar panels that help to power my house. Participating in this program also means that I don’t have to worry about maintenance nor any third-party finance arrangements.Īnd unlike some community solar programs, I don’t have to purchase the panels up-front, either. Virtual Solar is promoted as an alternative for customers who aren’t able to purchase and install their own solar systems - for instance, those who rent homes, have trees shading our property, or for those of us whose neighborhood covenants (currently) prohibit solar. So I was eager to explore this new program announced earlier this year (March 2018). For several years, I’ve been enrolled in their Green Power program, which produces electricity from landfill gas. I’ve enrolled in the new Virtual Solar program offered by my utility in Georgia, Sawnee EMC.
![]() ![]() ![]() I told you fools that late-90s polygons would become retro sooner or later, and with Gunscape they damn well have. If there's a game out there more efficient at slapping me with a faceful of sopping wet nostalgia, I've yet to discover it. Well, so much for providing a critical viewpoint. and turned out to be totally right about. Think of this as a list of games to watch out for, selected not based on any sane metric, but on what I thought looked promising at the time. Some I never got around to playing, or didn't experience comprehensively enough to confidently describe, while a few – though I hate to say this – simply had me tapping my pen against my desk for hours, struggling to find positive things to say about them. Below you will find a list of games that is by no means comprehensive, or even necessarily fairly selected. That was what gutted me: I couldn't give every game a fair shake, wait in the crowd around every stand, shout questions at every developer over 2K's thousandth obnoxious Borderlands advert. I saw games being exhibited by hopeful teams as small as two people, and before the Razor booth powered up and permanently deafened us all, I had a jolly good chat with some of them too.Īnd there were so damn many of them. Here the situation was near-identical, but with. In another time and place, these stands might have displayed painstakingly crafted trinkets or scientific curiosities the kind of thing that a handful of people might have collaborated on not necessarily because it would bring them fame or fortune – not that that would be unwelcome or anything, I'm sure – but because they were passionate about something and wanted a platform, however small, to share it with the world. It wasn't until I actually arrived and took stock of the indie pavilion that the comparison shone. It all seemed too big, too flashy, too – if I might let out my inner teenager for a second – corporate. It’s a turn of phrase that rather stuck in my mind because – even with the cosplay and the tournaments and the stalls hawking merchandise – I was never quite able to reconcile with the real thing. Released in February 2015, Hand of Fate combined traditional card-battling, as well as Dungeons and Dragons like story-telling, as well as action combat.Somewhere in the pile of long-since discarded documents that I endlessly pored over in the lead-up to PAX Aus – erroneously referred to as 'PAX Oz' by one of the Ubisoft promotional videos, but I suppose you can't blame them for trying to fit in – was a communique that described the event as a 'festival for games'. ![]() It is this passion that Australia-based Defiant Development managed to merge the old and new in a beautiful combination of fantasy, tactics, and action with Hand of Fate. These were ways to play and tell a story long before the scope of today’s games. For gamers of today, there is a passionate feeling and nostalgia for games of the past. Physical stores, such as Nerdvana in Egg Harbor New Jersey, have sprung up across the country as well, inviting new players into the tactics of tabletop warfare and card battling. In recent years, card games, board games, and tabletop games have increased in their popularity and community, becoming well known among audiences within the greater gaming community. On the contrary, video games have been perfect for the board game market. With the rise and popularity of video games, it would be easy to access that video games have begun to eclipse and overtake the traditional market of physical, non-video games. ![]() Scandinavian Design Awards for Architecture of the Year, 2023 ījarke Ingels David Zahle Ole Elkjær-Larsen Agnieszka Wardzińska Alexander Jacobson Andrea Hektor Andy Coward Ariana Ribas Ariana Szmedra Bjarke Koch-Ørvad Camille Breuil Cæcilie Søs Brandt-Olsen Claudia Bertolotti Duncan Horswill Eduardo Javier Sosa Trevino Eva Seo-Andersen Ewa Zapiec Filip Fot Frederic Lucien Engasser Frederik Skou Jensen Jens Majdal Kaarsholm Jesper Kanstrup Petersen Julia Novaes Tabet Julien Bernard Jacques Picard Julius Victor Schneevoigt Kaoan Hengles De Lima Katrine Juul Katrine Sandstrøm Kristoffer Negendahl Ksenia Zhitomirskaya Luca Pileri Magni Waltersson Miles Treacy Nanna Gyldholm Møller Neringa Jurkonyte Ningnan Ye Palita Tungjaroen Paula Madrid Rron Bexheti Steen Kortbæk Svendsen Thor Larsen-Lechuga Tobias Hjortdal Tommy Bjørnstrup Tore Banke Tristan Harvey Ulla Hornsyld Viktoria Millentrup Xingyue Huang Zuzanna Eugenia Montwill Ákos Márk Horváth Jean-Sébastien Pagnon Andreas Bak Cheng-Huang Lin Giulia Frittoli Sui King Yu Jenna Hukkinen Marcel Götz Jonas Rask Edward Durie AWARDSĭOGA-merket for Architecture and Design, 2023 All four production units are built with 21 m free-spanning, cross-laminated timber, creating flexible column free – space s. Fast travel in Soul Sand Valleys is also very good, although using an elytra is even fasterĬ) Gold – it might not be very useful in Minecraft, but gold can be used for trading/bartering, decoration or just collecting for fun. On average, I’ve found roughly 2 ancient debris / netherite scraps per bastion.ī) Soul Speed enchantment – it’s amazing if you build some roads made of soul sand/soul soil (they can be covered with slabs to look better), you can move extremely fast on them with Soul Speed III. Sure, you can just go mining, but it’s incredibly tedious and doesn’t give you that much ancient debris (unless you’re very lucky or you’ve built a World Eater or something). These things are:Ī) Netherite (ancient debris, netherite scraps, netherite ingots) – in my opinion, bastions are the best source of netherite. There are some thing that can only be found in bastion remnants, but there are also some things that bastions are (one of) the best source of. For the less favorable terrain, have a lot of blocks for ravines and a good pickaxe for dead ends, so you can tunnel through netherrack quickly. If you don’t have it yet, then a saddled strider with a warped fungus on a stick works pretty well on these large lava lakes. ![]() I strongly recommend an elytra with some fireworks. I’m talking about the uneven terrain - dead ends, hills and ravines. Navigating the Nether is a pretty miserable experience and I’m not talking about the abundance of lava and aggressive mobs. You can also just fly/run around the nether randomly, but it’s not very effective – it’s dangerous, takes a lot of time and bastions are often covered in netherrack (or similar blocks), so they can be difficult to find. The best way to locate a bastion is to use a seed map app on ChunkBase. However, if even a tiny part of the structure is located in a valid biome, then the rest can be inside of a basalt delta (and that can be a huge pain in the ass, believe me). The mobs that can be found inside are mainly piglins, piglin brutes and hoglins, but occasionally you can find mobs specific to the Nether biome that the bastion is located in (zombified piglins, skeletons, Endermen, magma cubes).īastions can spawn in every biome except basalt deltas. What are bastions and how to find them?īastions (or, more precisely, bastion remnants) are huge structures found in the Nether, made primarily out of blackstone and blackstone bricks. What are the dangers and how to deal with them?.What are bastions and how to find them?.I strongly recommend watching my four Bastion Looting Route Guides, since many things are best explained by showing them (I plan to post them here over the course of the next few weeks). I’m playing on Java Edition, but as far as I know, regarding bastions, Bedrock Edition has only slightly different loot pools. I haven’t found a comprehensive guide for bastion looting that is not aimed at speedrunners, so I wanted to share my knowledge of these structures. In this time, I’ve conquered around three hundred of them. I’ve been looting piglin bastions for a few years. Hi, I’m TooMuch (short for „toomuchinvigilation”). There are two monthly subscription packages: one is cheaper ($20.99/£19.97 a month) because it is part of an annual plan the other is a more expensive option ($31.49/£30.34 a month), but you can cancel without having to pay Adobe anything. There’s also a palette that allows people to collaborate online by adding comments to their projects as well–which is unique to this version of Photoshop. On the right of the editing window, you’ll find a detailed set of tool palettes for working with layers, masks and effects. If you are unfamiliar with the tools each has a quick video tutorial. The main editing page looks similar to the desktop version of Photoshop, with a set of editing tools running down the left-hand side of the window, including Selection tools, Paint Brush, Adjustments for color and lighting, and a Type tool for adding text. For example, there are Quick Actions for lighting effects or removing the background from an image It doesn’t include all the features of Photoshop, but there are lots of quick and easy editing tools available. As yet there’s no news on when it will come to Safari. That version of Photoshop is available globally now, but it is in beta and only works on the Chrome browser or Microsoft’s Edge, with support for Firefox in the works. But if you're a creative producer serious about producing industry-standard content, Photoshop CS6 is a strong, competitive tool.Back in June 2022 Adobe started a trial of a free web-based version of Photoshop in Canada. We've barely scratched the surface of everything CS6 offers, including video support and auto-save functionality like its suite cousin, Adobe Premiere. In addition, Photoshop CS6 also has a dummy "lorem ipsum" body text built into the app so designers can quickly paste sample paragraphs. You can also generate custom-size shapes by inputting numerical pixel values to add more precise mock-up elements. Creative Suite 6 now accepts the standard 3-6 character HEX codes in their color selectors, which is key for designers who want to call out specific Web colors. Photoshop also brings improved precision to setting colors and custom dimensions for shapes. You can define the layer style for various folders, potentially opening the door to even more complex effects and filter combinations. Another major change is the ability to apply layer styles to groups. You can search by layer name, type, attribute, and color. Photoshop CS6 finally empowers users with the ability to search within their layers, a crucial benefit for those who work on projects with many elements and layer groups like UI and Web designers. There are seriously way too many new features for us to cover in such a short overview: instead, we'll briefly look at some of the more notable improvements. Tools are more streamlined thanks to Adobe's continuing move towards collapsible menus, while leaving the primary tools visible. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, if you're itching for a brighter look, CS6 gives users lighter-colored interfaces, reminiscent of previous versions. Photoshop CS6 brings a darker, more focused default work environment, with menus and toolbars painted in dark grays and blacks. Let's start with the interface: dark is good. Adobe Photoshop CS6 only strengthens the benchmark software's existing position as the unrivaled production suite and an indispensable tool for old and new generation creative minds: graphic designers, web developers, video editors, you name it. ![]() Aside from fish, they also prey on water snakes, frogs, monitor lizards, and young turtles. Here's a little video (with some sadly cheesy narration) showing the shoebill going after the aforementioned lungfish, which, in this clip, has some fight in it. Shoebill storks are diurnal, although they will occasionally hunt at night if the moonlight is bright enough. Thank god the shoebill does not want to eat me, because I would be a goner. Jesus christ! The is constantly pouncing and decapitating things with its terrifyingly sharp bill. The shoebill stork is a fascinating bird species known for its unique appearance and impressive size. When there’s nothing but lungfish or crocodile left, the Shoebill will give it a quick decapitation with the sharp edges of the bill (because of course it does) and swallow away. Clamping down on its prey, the bird will start to swing its massive head back and forth, tipping out whatever stuff it doesn’t want to eat. Then the bird will pounce forward, all five feet of it, with its massive bill wide open, engulfing its target along with water, mud, vegetation, and probably any other hapless fish minding their own business. The Shoebill will stand there, motionless as a statue, and wait for some poor lungfish or baby crocodile to swim by. This bird eats crocodiles! And they hunt like total bosses of the swamp. They alternately clack their beaks in self-defense to attract mates and to talk to their chicks. ![]() One final incredible shoebill stork fact is that shoebills make a lot of noise with their beakswhen they want to. Sam helpfully poses with Jean Pierre Napoleon in front of a suspect height wall chart in this scene from Muppets Most Wanted. Shoebill storks can be quite the chatter-boxes when they have the urge. Sam the Eagle: Just over 5 foot 6 inches. American Bald Eagle: Up to 3 feet 2 inches. They eat big fish like lungfish, eels, and catfish, and also crazy stuff like Nile monitor lizards, snakes, and baby crocodiles. Shoebills defend their favorite feeding areas from conspecificseating alone is a way of life They may start feeding when the sun comes up, but they don’t dine in earnest until after 11 a.m. Fortunately, it was much easier to find heights for everyone. This giant bird has a large body, huge wings, and a bill that looks like a shoe. Shoebills, which live in the swamps of eastern tropical Africa, are after smaller prey. The shoebill stork ( Balaeniceps rex) is a large, broad bird that is endemic to the swamps and wetlands of Central and East Africa. They may just be the deadliest reptiles alive today.
